** Maine General Health is seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Oncology team at the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care (HACCC) as a Clinical Trials Research Nurse. This is an exceptional opportunity to be at the forefront of cancer research while making a direct impact on patient outcomes and the future of oncology care.
In this role, you will perform both clinical and administrative functions in support of the design, implementation, coordination, and management of oncology clinical trials. You will collaborate closely with physicians, research staff, and multidisciplinary care teams to ensure high-quality, compliant, and patient-centered research practices. **** Position Details:
*** Part-time, 36 hours per week

** What You'll Do:
*** Follows good clinical practice guidelines (GCP) by safeguarding clinical trial integrity while adhering to protocol. Ensures the safety of clinical research subjects, reporting of adverse events and drug accountability. Coordinates audits, inspections, and monitoring by supporting auditors and implementing any necessary corrective actions.
* Engages in subject screening, recruitment and enrollment for clinical trials. Conducts proper consenting of study subjects and manages the activities for the study participants.
* Performs detailed clinical assessments of study participants and coordinates clinical treatment, study visits and follow up care.
* Completes case report forms (paper and electronic data capture). Collects, processes and ships laboratory specimens according to protocol documents. Shares clinical research information and general education with patients and other healthcare professionals outside the research team.
** What You'll Bring:
*** Active Maine RN licensure or ability to obtain same in a timely fashion, required
* At least a year of nursing experience with oncology experience, preferred
* Research nurse experience preferred, but willing to train the right person
* A high attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
* A passion for analyzing and applying guidance & protocol and a strong problem-solving ability
