While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, in-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment. Attendance is expected and supported.

The Platform Product Group engineers build a trusted, scalable and compliant platform to operate with speed, efficiency and quality. The Core Automation Team focuses on developing AI infrastructure and automation solutions to enhance productivity, foster innovation, and create meaningful customer impact across Coinbase. The team supports customer support and compliance functions and uses AI models, diverse data sources, including blockchain data, to improve cryptocurrency adoption and AI-powered customer interactions.

• Explore and apply advanced GenAI techniques, including large language models (LLMs) and Agentic AI, to solve complex challenges across the organization.
• Lead project execution by managing priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, leveraging technical expertise.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code in Python and Golang to address critical product and business needs.
• Architect scalable, secure systems using modern cloud technologies and industry best practices.
• Mentor team members on design principles, coding standards, and AI productivity tools adoption.
• Debug complex technical issues to enhance system reliability, scalability, and ease of operation.
• Review and ensure the security, scalability, and architectural integrity of feature designs across teams.
• Build pipelines to integrate with third-party vendors and streamline workflows.

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Proven expertise in designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services, with a strong understanding of micro-services architecture.
• Ability to write high-quality, well-tested code that meets customer needs.
• Deep understanding of high-quality code and software engineering processes, and the ability to foster such practices.
• Strong technical skills in system design and coding.
• Passion for building an open financial system that unites the world.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a preference for open and transparent cultural practices.

• Experience navigating rapid company growth (e.g., startup to mid-size).
• Familiarity with GenAI frameworks/tools, Python, GoLang, Docker, Postgres, Mongo
  
  DB.
• Background in AI/LLM infrastructure is a strong plus.

Pay Transparency Notice:
Depending on location, the target annual salary can range as detailed below. Full-time offers include bonus eligibility, equity eligibility, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)).

Pay Range: $186,065—$218,900 USD
