AR Collections Specialist

Our client, a rapidly growing organization in the consumer goods sector, is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their finance team on a 6-month maternity leave contract. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of collections, credit approvals, and customer payment applications, supporting both Canadian and U.S. operations. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys managing a variety of customer relationships, and brings strong communication and organizational skills.

• Assist with day-to-day accounts receivable activities, including payments, collections, invoices, credits, and account reconciliations.
• Follow up with customers on outstanding balances and assist with collections.
• Assist with customer account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
• Process customer credits and assist with return/credit requests.
• Assist with invoicing and related AR tasks as required.
• Maintain accurate AR records, documentation, and supporting schedules.
• Work closely with the AR Supervisor and other members of the finance team to resolve customer account issues.
• Provide general administrative and reporting support to the AR function as needed.

• 2+ years of accounts receivable, billing, or credit/collections experience.
• Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Comfortable communicating with customers and following up on outstanding balances.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Good Excel and general accounting software skills.
• Previous experience in consumer products, distribution, or retail is an asset.
• A positive, team-oriented approach and willingness to learn.
