High School Math & Science Teacher
Employment Type: Part Time
Location: Aurora, Ontario
Pay: $17.20 to $20.00 per hour
Position RequirementsThis role is part‑time and conducted in‑person at Oxford Learning Aurora. Teachers will work after‑school and evening hours (3:00 pm–8:00 pm) and some Saturdays (10:00 am–3:00 pm). A commitment through the end of the term in June, and ideally through the summer, is preferred. Reliable attendance is essential. All lessons are pre‑planned; teachers receive training on our proprietary philosophy and methods. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
Education- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field
- Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
- Teaching certification is an asset
- Good knowledge of the current Grades 9–12 math and science curriculum, including Advanced Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Vectors, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
- Some experience teaching or tutoring math at a Grade 9–12 level
- Strong English written and oral communication skills
- Strong math skills and ability to guide student understanding
- Ability to multitask and work with up to three students simultaneously
- Teach up to three students at a time across different levels
- Conduct sessions both online (when required) and in‑person
- Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Complete post‑lesson notes
- Provide daily student communication updates
- Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times
