Aurora Montessori School is a co‑educational Montessori private school located in Aurora, Ontario, on 14 acres of natural conservation land. We provide Montessori programming for students aged Toddler to Grade 8 in a 36,000 sq. ft. facility. Our mission is to help children realize the great potential that rests within by developing a sense of self and inspiring them to act on their ambitions.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Toddler Montessori Classroom Assistant to support Montessori and RECE educators in delivering a high‑quality, child‑centered program.
Key Responsibilities
Support daily classroom routines such as hygiene, toileting, snacks, dressing, naptime, and transitions, ensuring a safe and smooth flow throughout the day.
Collaborate with Montessori and RECE educators to deliver an authentic, robust Montessori curriculum.
Facilitate learning experiences that are responsive to the individual interests and developmental needs of each child.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom in alignment with AMS policies, Ministry of Education guidelines and health and safety regulations.
Supervise and engage students during both indoor and outdoor play, modeling positive social interactions and respectful behavior.
Provide individualized care and support based on each child’s unique strengths, needs, and learning goals.
Observe and document student progress; contribute to parent communications and reporting as directed by lead educators.
Build strong, respectful relationships with children, families, and staff to support a cohesive and collaborative classroom community.
Participate actively in team meetings, professional development, and school events as required.
Promote and embody the school’s core values of respect, inclusivity, inquisitiveness, and kindness in all aspects of the role.
Qualifications
Experience working with young children in a classroom, childcare, or Montessori setting preferred.
Willingness to obtain a MACTE or AMI accredited Infant‑Toddler Montessori Assistant certification.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong communication, observation, and interpersonal skills.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Clear Vulnerable Sector Check required.
Passion for early childhood education and commitment to child‑centered learning.
