Teach Ojibwe Language at YRDSB

As part of YRDSB, you'll coordinate with the Regional Ojibwe Language Team, implementing culturally relevant content and fostering language fluency among students. Ideal candidates will have a strong teaching background in Ojibwe and an understanding of Indigenous cultural knowledge for effective delivery of the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver conversational Ojibwe language lessons every week
• Work with the Ojibwe Language Coordinator on instructional strategies
• Support Indigenous pedagogy and cultural education
• Encourage land-based and experiential learning activities
• Cultivate an inclusive learning environment for students
Requirements:
• Fluency and teaching experience in the Ojibwe language
• Background in working with Indigenous communities
• Proficiency in technology as it relates to education
• Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills
• First Nations identity and experience preferred
