Temporary Specialized Educational Intervenor

Enhance student support as a Specialized Educational Intervenor with YORK CATHOLIC DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD in St. Joseph the Worker, Thornhill. This itinerant role focuses on fostering independence and safety for K-12 students.

The Specialized Educational Intervenor (SEI) position is temporary and will involve providing dedicated support to students with varying needs across different schools in the South and West region. You will implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Prospective candidates must have a relevant college diploma and at least three years of experience working with at-risk youth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement strategies for student self-regulation and support

• Assist students in skill development and independence

• Document progress and interventions via daily logs

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal support

• Supervise students during various activities and transitions

Requirements:

• Diploma in child/youth development or related fields

• Three years of experience in relevant clinical settings

• Valid Crisis Intervention Certification and CPR training

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Reliable transportation for travel between schools
