Position Overview

The AI Solutions Engineer is responsible for identifying, designing, and implementing AI-driven solutions that create measurable business value. Reporting to the VP, IT, this role translates emerging technology trends into practical applications that drive cost reduction, improve routing efficiencies, enable workforce automation, support predictive maintenance, and enhance customer experience. This role operates across both strategic and technical domains—reimagining core workflows, modernizing and integrating data environments, and delivering scalable AI solutions.

It also works with multiple large language model (LLM) platforms, selecting and applying the most appropriate model based on use case, performance, cost, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs
  • Translate business needs into AI-enabled solutions with clear value propositions and measurable ROI
  • Design, develop, and implement end-to-end AI solutions, from concept through deployment and optimization
  • Architect AI solutions using multiple LLM providers (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, and other enterprise LLM platforms), ensuring appropriate model selection by use case
  • Develop practical LLM routing and orchestration approaches to balance performance, cost, and accuracy
  • Partner with business stakeholders to reimagine and transform core workflows using data and automation
  • Lead initiatives to modernize, integrate, and govern data to support AI use cases
  • Develop models and systems supporting predictive maintenance, intelligent routing, and customer experience enhancements
  • Design evaluation methods to assess AI/LLM outputs for quality, reliability, and business alignment
  • Monitor, measure, and continuously improve solution performance against defined KPIs and ROI targets
  • Stay current with AI, machine learning, and automation trends and assess their applicability to the organization
  • Ensure solutions align with IT standards, security policies, and enterprise architecture
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics roles
  • Strong experience designing and deploying AI/ML solutions in a business environment
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience using machine learning libraries and modern AI/LLM frameworks
  • Experience working with APIs, cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP), and enterprise data environments
  • Experience with data engineering, integration, and modern data platforms
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value and communicate with non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in environmental solutions, operations, finance, or logistics
  • Experience supporting M&A integrations, including data consolidation and system harmonization
  • Experience designing and implementing solutions using large language model platforms and APIs, including OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, and other enterprise LLM providers
  • Experience working in multi-LLM environments and selecting appropriate models based on use case, performance, cost, and reliability
  • Experience with process automation tools and workflow optimization
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, MLOps, or model deployment pipelines
  • Proven track record of delivering solutions with measurable ROI
