As part of York Regional Police, you will create and maintain crucial GIS data for various applications. This specialist position requires expertise in transforming operational data into spatial formats and ensuring seamless data flow between Business Intelligence and GIS systems. You will collaborate with external vendors and internal teams to enhance organizational capabilities and data quality.
Key Responsibilities:
• Transform operational data into spatially consumable GIS formats
• Configure web maps using JSON, JavaScript, and other languages
• Develop and maintain functionality for public safety data portals
• Conduct maintenance and support for GIS servers
• Assess and automate redundant data flows for efficiency
Requirements:
• Four-year degree in Geography, Geomatics, or Computer Science
• Three years of GIS data development and maintenance experience
• Experience with VertiGIS/Geocortex and ESRI web mapping
• Knowledge of spatial data management and governance principles
• Strong problem-solving skills for GIS dataflow issues
