Seafood Cutter

Job Overview

Reporting to the Seafood Department Head (or his/her delegates), the Seafood Cutter is responsible for preparing various seafood products in advance for customers to choose from. The position includes stocking seafood products onto display cases in the sales area, following FIFO principles, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining inventory and workplace cleanliness.

• Maintain inventory and product quality, following FIFO concepts and ensuring full display of seafood products.
• Follow procedures to process expired products and manage shrinkage.
• Prepare various seafood products for sales activities, including catching, gutting, descaling, cutting, washing, packing, labeling, and displaying them in the display coolers.
• Greet customers with a friendly smile and enthusiasm.
• Assist customers in selecting seafood products and provide recommendations as needed.
• Maintain workplace cleanliness by washing relevant work areas and ensuring tools are clean and well-kept.
• Keep storage areas, display cases, and walk‑in coolers clean and tidy.
• Know the location of various seafood items and keep self‑updated on all promotion activities within the Seafood Department.
• Be flexible to work in shifts, including weekdays, weekends, morning hours, evening hours, and statutory holidays.
• Use seafood cutters and other tools safely.
• Stand for long periods and handle seafood products (live & frozen) while lifting products up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
• Work in low temperature (0‑4 °C), freezing temperature (‑18 °C), and wet environments for extended periods.
• Be non‑allergic to handling seafood products.
• Communicate in English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin).
• Have basic knowledge of work safety.
• Relevant experience in handling seafood products is preferred.

Salary: CA $52,000.00–CA $60,000.00
