Aurora is a distributed, fault‑tolerant database service that leverages a self‑healing storage system, performing up to five times faster than standard MySQL databases and three times faster than standard PostgreSQL databases.

• Deliver software features and improvements to major portions of the team’s software.
• Work with customers, stakeholders, and peers to understand and deliver the right solutions.
• Design software solutions to enable new features or improve existing ones.
• Perform operational work to solve customer problems and enhance team operations.
• Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including scoping, design, code, code reviews, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, and scaling).
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
• Bachelor’s degree or above in computer science or equivalent.

• Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices (coding standards, architecture, code reviews, source control, continuous deployment, testing, operational excellence).
• Experience performing security activities across the software development lifecycle (security design review, threat modeling, secure code review, and security testing).
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems, or with threat modeling and penetration testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or related STEM fields.
• Experience building complex software systems successfully delivered to customers.
• 7+ years of experience in server, storage, networking, or large‑scale distributed systems.
• Experience communicating complex business concepts in verbal and written form.
