Position Overview

Assistant Project Manager - Colorado at Independence Realty Trust Inc.

The Assistant Project Manager will serve as the point of contact to outside contractors and in‑house renovation personnel, managing the onsite renovation team day‑to‑day and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Duties
  • Keep Project Managers abreast of renovation progress by providing regular updates.
  • Serve as point of contact with outside contractors and in‑house renovation personnel; oversee and distribute daily assignments.
  • Work with contractors and renovation personnel to complete work on schedule and within agreed budget.
  • Assist with sub‑contractor scheduling, supervision, and quality control.
  • Perform carpentry, painting, intermediate electrical, and plumbing duties as required.
  • Maintain schedules, inventory, and track performed work.
  • Install new appliances, electrical fixtures, cabinetry, etc.
  • Move appliances, furniture, and cabinetry with assistance.
  • Maintain a safe, clean shop and work area.
  • Adhere to company safety policies, PPE, OSHA standards, and report hazards immediately.
  • Maintain courteous demeanor with owners, residents, and vendors.
  • Participate in company training, meetings, and classes.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by Project Managers.
Travel Expectations
  • Travel for business up to 25% of the time.
  • Attendance at conferences, company events, or community functions may be required.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • 2+ years supervising or working on electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC projects.
  • Complete working knowledge of Fair Housing laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs and perform physical tasks required for the role.
  • Professional appearance and courtesy to residents, prospective residents, co‑workers, and vendors.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Availability to work any of the seven days of the week, 52 weeks a year, including on‑call hours as required.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
