The hiring range for this position is $27.27 - $34.09/hour

* OVERVIEW OF POSITION / DEPARTMENT The City of Aurora is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector who perform Inspection of construction-related professional services during the construction phase of water projects. Construction Inspectors verify work is completed in compliance with plans, specifications, rules, regulations and City codes. Aurora Water is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the drinking water, sanitary sewer and storm drainage systems, treatment of drinking water and non-potable reclaimed wastewater for irrigation, billing and collection, public outreach and water conservation, acquisition and development of future water rights, major capital projects programs, and quality control for regulatory compliance and public health.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES  
* Incumbents, as assigned, perform entry-level to journey-level inspections of wet utilities and related systems including fire and life safety systems of residential and capital projects to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
* Coordinates, and monitors water construction projects
* Works with consultants and engineers; monitors work being done
* Coordinates water issues with other city departments
* Reviews and Evaluates construction plans and specifications and suggests changes, as appropriate
* Maintains accurate construction files and records
* Identifies pre-problems areas and meets with contractors to resolve problems
* Conducts walk-through with contractors and inspects completed and in-progress work sites
* Performs miscellaneous field work such as gathering information, finding problem areas, and performing rude survey work
* Works on special projects as assigned
* Performs additional duties as required
** MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & WORKING CONDITIONS
** An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
