Job Summary
The University of Colorado, College of Nursing is seeking exceptional nurses with graduate education who have recent clinical experience and interest in teaching nursing in an academic setting. These adjunct academic faculty positions have direct teaching and student evaluation responsibilities and will provide didactic/clinical instruction for students formally enrolled in nursing education courses at the University of Colorado, College of Nursing.
Faculty rank will depend on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
The College of Nursing enrolls over 1,200 students in four academic degree programs: BS, Masters, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), and PhD. The number of students will vary from a ratio of 1‑35 to 1‑100 depending on the specific course and the level of the students. It is expected that this individual will assume the direct teaching responsibilities in classroom, online, or hybrid environments.
Key Responsibilities• Deliver didactic and clinical instruction aligning with curriculum, course competencies, and integration of clinical and research knowledge.
• Assure learning experiences are congruent with curriculum standards.
• Assess student learning and communicate evaluations with students directly. The final evaluation and grade will be the responsibility of this position.
• This role is eligible for a hybrid schedule as needed.

- Instructor Adjoint (Academic):
- Graduate degree from an accredited institution with appropriate specialty/discipline content for available didactic/clinical teaching needs.
- Evidence of teaching experience.
- Previously held the rank of Instructor at a comparable higher education institution.
- Sr. Instructor Adjoint (Academic):
- Graduate degree from an accredited institution with appropriate specialty/discipline content for available didactic/clinical teaching needs.
- Evidence of teaching experience.
- Previously held the rank of Sr. Instructor at a comparable higher education institution.
- Assistant Professor Adjoint (Academic):
- Graduate degree from an accredited institution with appropriate specialty/discipline content for available didactic/clinical teaching needs.
- Evidence of teaching experience.
- Previously held the rank of Assistant Professor at a comparable higher education institution.
- Associate Professor Adjoint (Academic):
- Graduate degree from an accredited institution with appropriate specialty/discipline content for available didactic/clinical teaching needs.
- Evidence of teaching experience.
- Previously held the rank of Associate Professor at a comparable higher education institution.
- Professor Adjoint (Academic):
- Graduate degree from an accredited institution with appropriate specialty/discipline content for available didactic/clinical teaching needs.
- Evidence of teaching experience.
- Previously held the rank of Professor at a comparable higher education institution.
