YAP) Educational Pathway Director – open rank (Instructor to Professor)

Job Summary

Lead the 3‑year A3YP, design curriculum, manage admissions, mentor students, collaborate with UME and GME, evaluate program, and guarantee seamless transition to residency while engaging community partners.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the secondary admissions committee to select prospective A3YP students.
  • Partner with UME and GME leaders to design, implement, and integrate A3YP curriculum and academic progression.
  • Provide student advising, mentorship, progress monitoring, and serve on Progress Committees.
  • Facilitate transition to residency, develop individualized learning plans, and structured handoffs.
  • Build relationships with clinical affiliates, hospitals, and community partners for student placements and workforce development.
  • Participate in direct teaching as DOCS preceptor and/or LIC preceptor at the designated site.
  • Attend regular A3YP, UME, and GME meetings; respond promptly to communications; engage with IT platforms and learning management systems.
Qualifications
  • Terminal medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Ability to obtain a faculty appointment at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
  • Experience in medical education, curriculum development, and program management.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.
  • Excellent communication and data interpretation skills for continuous quality improvement.
  • Commitment to innovative educational strategies, community, and workforce engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing accelerated medical education pathways.
  • Proven mentorship and residency match success.
  • Faculty or teaching experience in a medical school setting.
