Job Summary

Seeking applicants currently practicing in Estes Park. The Office of Medical Education (OME) within the University of Colorado's School of Medicine (SOM) is searching for an Estes Park Liaison for the Northern Colorado Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship site.

The School of Medicine’s OME has transitioned the core clinical curriculum into a Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship (LIC) model. Core clinical education occurs primarily in an outpatient setting with targeted hospital‑based training called immersions. Core competencies encompass the care of adults, children, and pregnant patients taught by providers from family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, psychiatry, surgery, and emergency medicine.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the administration of the LIC at Estes Park—50% of the role—including communicating effectively with the LIC coordinator(s) and director(s) as needed.
  • Work with the team to create a schedule for students at your site that aligns with the rest of the clerkship.
  • Identify interested preceptors and assist them in obtaining clinical faculty appointments with CUSOM.
  • Develop, coordinate, and communicate a clinical schedule with the student(s) and preceptors at your site.
  • Work with the team to identify and support faculty development for preceptors.
  • Ensure adequate student feedback from faculty at your site.
  • Work with the team to develop and deliver student orientation at your site.
  • Stay abreast of any changes in clerkship requirements so these can be adopted.
  • Provide feedback and remediation to any faculty not meeting expectations of excellence in clinical teaching.
  • Mentorship and evaluation responsibilities—50% of the role—which include precepting students, identifying students who need remediation, and referring them to Northern Colorado LIC leadership.
  • Assist the LIC coordinator in gathering evaluations and feedback from specialty attendings about their LIC students.
  • Share feedback on the LIC with attending faculty physicians.
  • Work onsite in Estes Park, CO.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Practicing clinically in Estes Park, Colorado.
  • Hold a terminal degree (MD or DO) from an accredited university.
  • Must be able to obtain an instructor faculty appointment at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with students, faculty, and leadership team members.
  • Experience in medical education, curriculum development and project coordination.
  • Experience working effectively with blended teams.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong understanding of clinical education models and medical education curricula.
  • Ability to cultivate relationships with people who enjoy teaching and who can inspire students and support the educational process and values of lifelong learning at CU School of Medicine.

Compensation

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as follows:
The salary range for each rank (Instructor, Sr. Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor) is up to $12,500 representing an estimated 0.05 FTE salary support plus benefits. The final offer will be capped at $250,000 annually and will depend on the individual's current 1.0 FTE salary. This position is not eligible for overtime…
