SQL expertise and strong analytical skills to refactor, optimise, and extend our core database functions and schemas. The role focuses on improving the performance and reliability of complex PL/pgSQL functions that power real-time index calculations for thousands of assets.

• Refactor and optimise existing Postgre
  
  SQL functions for speed and maintainability
• Design efficient indexing and partitioning strategies for time-series data
• Improve execution plans, caching, and query performance
• Ensure mathematical accuracy in index and price calculations
• Work closely with backend engineers to maintain clean API integration with Python

• Expert-level SQL and PL/pgSQL programming skills
• Proven experience tuning Postgre
  
  SQL for analytical workloads
• Strong understanding of execution plans, CTEs, joins, and indexing strategies
• Comfort with large datasets and time-series data
• Strong mathematical and analytical reasoning

• Familiarity with Python-based backends (Flask/FastAPI, SQL Alchemy)
• Experience with Redis, Aurora, or Timescale DB
• Background in quantitative or financial data systems
