Your mission is ours. Lockheed Martin is seeking a full-time Hardware Engineer to join the team located in Aurora, Colorado. The Hardware Engineer performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.

Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

- Provide real time, operational support to various teams for the operation and maintenance of Ground and Space system software and equipment
- Provide system maintenance support for a large system of computers (Linux environment), associated switching, network, communication circuits, and equipment
- Identify system problems, perform troubleshooting, correcting, and documenting both software and hardware failures
- Support daily system configuration management during operations and system upgrades/modifications
- Provide operations subject matter expertise to technical working groups
- Participate in Ground and Space anomaly resolution working groups
- Thoroughly document system deficiencies
- Provide technical recommendations and guidance to Ground and Satellite operators during system failures and recovery
- Collaborate closely with internal/external technical engineering operations teams
- Troubleshoot system anomalies when external customers endure data outages
- Monitor and maintain logs of equipment up/down reporting and tracks hardware status with blue tag notification for operations personnel.
- Provide scheduled and unscheduled preventative/corrective actions and emergency maintenance on system devices and infrastructures.
- Provide break/fix actions for hardware and equipment as needed on site.
- Provide onsite presence to report anomalies, helping with problem resolution and escorting duties for repair actions.
- Install spares as needed for repair actions.
- Train new personnel, assist with new installations, support special projects, and assist the operational crews to resolve hardware issues.
- Utilize SBIRS standard board processes for all maintenance actions and document changes.
- Perform Level 1 HW PMI activities and document intervals.
- Perform PMI document updates.
- Provide onsite servicing of shelters and associated equipment.
- Prepare reports and maintain records on equipment and preventative maintenance.
- Troubleshoot equipment and perform preventative maintenance.
- Servicing components including all physical, structure and mechanical equipment.
- Service HVAC equipment and manage HAZMAT materials as required. May be required to move heavy equipment or operate around energized electrical equipment.

Basic Qualifications:

- General knowledge/experience in Linux
- Must be able to support 24x7 operations environment
- System troubleshooting skills
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work as a member of a team in a dynamic environment
- Active Secret security clearance (the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance)
