Job SummaryThe Child and Adolescent Division of the Department of Psychiatry has an opening for a full‑time Position for a Child/Adolescent Psychologist in Colorado Springs. This open‑rank position could be categorized as Instructor, Senior Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications. The Psychologist will provide direct patient care to children, adolescents, and their families at the Children’s Hospital Colorado Telstar location, including diagnostic evaluation, assessment, treatment, and discharge planning.
Services may be offered in the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and outpatient programming.
The PHP provides intensive mental health treatment for youth who experience serious challenges and cannot function optimally in a community setting. Youth attend 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily for approximately two weeks. The primary modality is group therapy with a trans‑diagnostic curriculum, supplemented by individual and family therapy, medication evaluation/management, and psycho educational groups for parents.
The outpatient program offers evaluation and treatment for children and adolescents who can function safely at home, school, and in the community. Patients typically receive individual or family therapy once weekly and may receive medication support from other providers.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including diagnostic evaluations and evidence‑based individual, family, and group therapy.
- Develop and implement evidence‑based treatment plans and monitor progress.
- Collaborate with internal and external providers to coordinate treatment plans and progress.
- Maintain timely communication with team members, supervisor, and divisional leadership.
- Supervise, teach, and mentor psychology trainees and consult with other mental health providers.
- Engage in program development, quality improvement, and/or research projects.
- Serve on committees, task forces, and/or work groups.
- Enter appropriate notes and charge captures that comply with state and federal standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Onsite – the role is expected to work onsite in Colorado Springs, CO.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
Open‑rank position; ranking is determined by experience and qualifications. Applicants at Instructor/ Senior Instructor/ Assistant Professor levels must provide 1–3 years of related clinical experience, a PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology or a related field, a Colorado Psychologist License or eligibility for licensure, significant experience in a pediatric psychiatric setting, and completion of an APA‑approved training and internship.
Associate Professors must have 4–7 years of related clinical experience and meet the same educational and licensure requirements.
Professor level requires 7+ years of related clinical experience and identical educational, licensure, and work experience qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications (applicable for all ranks)- 1–2 years of post‑doctoral fellowship in child and adolescent psychology clinical work.
- Experience in an APA‑accredited training program.
- Experience leading or collaborating on program development, quality improvement, or clinical research initiatives.
