Bilingual Data Collector – Research Services Professional (Entry/Intermediate)

Adult and Child Center for Outcomes Research and Delivery Science (ACCORDS). This NIH-funded study, Family Matters, focuses on childhood health factors in low-income and minority households. The role supports recruitment, retention, and data collection for a longitudinal cohort study and related clinical trial.
- Recruit, retain, and manage study participants over 12–18 months; update Red Cap, run data quality checks, and coordinate participant incentives.
- Collect anthropometric and survey data virtually from families; conduct virtual data collection visits from ACCORDS office and coordinate blood sample collection where applicable.
- Train and perform mixed-methods data collection (e.g., anthropometry, mHealth, dietary recalls, video-recorded family meals, surveys); engage in video coding and develop data collection protocols/materials.
- Lead and coordinate sibling data collection for the Family Matters study; train staff and report weekly progress to the Project Director and PI.
- Train and certify staff in virtual measurements (heights, weights, neck circumference); monitor measurement quality and ensure protocol adherence.
- Help develop and monitor detailed data collection protocols; identify barriers and revise procedures; conduct periodic protocol quality assessments.
- Support study operations: attend meetings, assist with protocols, problem-solve using study data, and maintain thorough documentation.
- Translate data collection materials as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Entry:
Bachelor’s degree in any field (or combination of education and related experience). Spanish fluency and ability to translate materials into Spanish.
Preferred/Intermediate Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, nutrition, behavioral sciences, or related field; 1–3 years relevant experience.
- Experience with electronic data capture systems (EMR/EHR, REDCap) and primary data collection on large-scale projects.
- Experience collecting anthropometric data; research with human subjects; recruitment, survey research, and in-home/clinic data collection; experience with low-income populations and multicultural settings.
- Master’s degree in related field (preferred for some levels) with 1–2 years relevant experience.
- Ability to work with a flexible schedule including late afternoons/evenings and some weekends.
Hybrid work arrangement: 2–3 days per week on campus with in-person meetings as needed.
Compensation and BenefitsEstimated salary ranges depending on level:
Entry Level Hiring Range: $48,446 – $61,623;
Intermediate Level Hiring Range: $52,721 – $67,061. Full University benefits include health, retirement, paid time off, and more.
