Medical Receptionist / Patient Care Coordinator

American Family Care (AFC) invites you to apply for the Medical Receptionist/Patient Care Coordinator role at our new urgent care clinic in Aurora, CO. This position requires a motivated, self‑starter who excels in patient interaction and administrative tasks. Bilingual (Spanish) skills are highly preferred to best serve the community, though translation services will also be available in the clinic.

Our state‑of‑the‑art centers focus on acute illnesses, injuries, workers' compensation, and occupational medicine. Each location includes an onsite lab and in‑house X‑ray capability. This position works directly with a franchised business location; specific job duties and benefits may vary between franchises.

Job Summary

Accurately check patients in and out by verifying insurance, collecting payments, and maintaining patient records and accounts. Maintain patient flow and provide positive patient relations.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare the clinic for opening each day by reviewing the facility, opening all system applications, and preparing new patient registration packets and required documents.
  • Greet patients, provide initial paperwork, and obtain copies of insurance and identification cards.
  • Register patients, update patient records, verify insurance accurately and timely, and check patients out.
  • Determine, collect, and process patient payments and address collection and billing issues.
  • Respond promptly to customer needs, provide excellent customer service, assist patients with follow-up appointments, and fulfill medical documentation requests.
  • Balance daily patient charges (cash, check, credit cards) against system reports.
  • Complete closing procedures by preparing closing documentation and submitting required reports.
  • Complete cash control procedures and secure financial assets.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Previous medical clerical experience preferred.
  • Basic computer knowledge, e.g., Microsoft Office.
  • Accuracy and detail orientation.
  • Positive customer service skills.
  • Well‑groomed appearance.
  • Clear and articulate phone mannerisms.
Compensation

$17.00 – $23.00 per hour.
