Director of Pharmacy Quality and Regulatory Compliance

Pay: $175,302 - $280,467 annual base salary. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
ResponsibilitiesThe Director of Pharmacy Quality and Regulatory Compliance at UCHealth is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of pharmacy quality assurance and regulatory compliance programs across the health system. This role ensures that all pharmacy operations meet or exceed federal, state, and accreditation standards, and that best practices are consistently applied to maintain patient safety and high-quality care.
Additionally, the Director collaborates closely with pharmacy leadership and regulatory affairs to identify, track, and initiate improvements that guarantee compliance with existing and evolving medication-related or pharmacy standards from the Joint Commission, CMS Conditions of Participation, and federal and state rules and regulations.
- Establishes and completes gap analyses for compliance with additions or changes to the standards, rules and regulations and assesses potential organizational impact.
- Tracks compliance with regulatory standards from the state Board of Pharmacy, and communicates regulatory updates to pharmacy leadership. Develops and maintains current training and gap analysis compliance materials both for ongoing assessment and to prepare staff for an accreditation or regulatory visit, across all pharmacy locations.
- Collaborates with regional directors and other leaders to support and influence the outcome of regulatory compliance and reviews and maintains subject matter expertise of the above-referenced standards, rules and regulations for pharmacy services or medication management processes.
- Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the administrative, legal and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization. Directs and oversees program development, performance management, personnel activities, budget, and the provision of services.
The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm
D) degree or equivalent; advanced certification in quality or regulatory compliance preferred. - State licensure as a pharmacist.
- At least 5 years of experience in hospital or health system pharmacy practice, including quality improvement and regulatory compliance.
- Knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Demonstrated regulatory compliance expertise, with ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and accreditation standards.
- Proven leadership and team management, facilitating collaboration and quality improvement.
- Clear and effective communication with staff, agencies, and leadership.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills for audits, investigations, and risk management.
- Strong attention to detail in monitoring compliance and preparing reports.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and regulatory excellence.
- Adaptable to changing regulations and organizational needs.
- Upholds integrity and ethical judgment in all compliance oversight.
