Job SummaryAssist with managing the laboratory and ensuring the lab is prepared for daily operations. Utilize a variety of wet laboratory techniques to support ongoing research projects, including animal dissection, blood processing, tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, cell isolation, IHC/IF, western blot, ELISA, PCR, etc. Provide animal care related to research studies and assist with delivering interventions in live mice aimed at improving cardiovascular and kidney function.
Provide laboratory science expertise and contribute to study design, oversight, data management, analyses, and manuscript preparation to assist the PI in research activities.
Onsite – Aurora, CO
Qualifications – Minimum- Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, biology, molecular biology, physiology, chemistry, or related field.
- One (1) year professional level research experience.
- An advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) may substitute for experience on a year‑for‑year basis if the degree is directly related to the work assignment.
- Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, biology, molecular biology, physiology, chemistry, or related field.
- Two (2) years professional level research experience.
- An advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) may substitute for experience on a year‑for‑year basis if the degree is directly related to the work assignment.
- Background in biochemistry, molecular biology, or similar field.
- Master’s degree in biochemistry, biology, molecular biology, physiology, chemistry, or related field.
- Two (2) or more years of experience in an experimental or wet laboratory, including cell culture and/or animal research experience.
- Proficient to advanced knowledge of laboratory techniques including safety procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.
- Ability to work independently with occasional guidance.
- Organization skills.
- Motivated and able to take initiative to make projects move forward.
- Willingness to work with animal models of kidney disease (mice).
