University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus – Department of Ophthalmology – Position # – Requisition 38428
Job Type: Full-time, University Staff (non-classified)
Key Responsibilities- Oversight of fellowship programs, including preparing and updating program information for applicants, organizing interview days, developing and maintaining schedules for fellows, and tracking case logs, evaluations, and surveys.
- Provide high-level administrative support to clinical faculty and programs, which includes calendaring, correspondence, faculty re‑credentialing, travel arrangements and expense reimbursements.
- Support the residency program and other education team initiatives, assisting faculty with various administrative tasks.
- Provide cross‑coverage for other administrative staff as needed.
Hybrid schedule: 3 days per week on campus, remaining days as needed for in‑person meetings.
About the DepartmentThe Department of Ophthalmology is housed in the Sue Anschutz‑Rodgers Eye Center on the Anschutz Medical Campus. It is one of the largest eye centers in the country and is known for its national and international reputation in routine and complex ophthalmic care.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and 2 years of professional experience in academic healthcare supporting departmental initiatives (or equivalent experience).
- Three (3) or more years of experience managing day‑to‑day administrative operations within an academic team.
- Experience providing administrative and technical assistance to faculty and staff.
- Experience coordinating travel, purchasing, and expense reimbursements.
- Experience working in a healthcare or academic setting.
- Experience with UCD software such as Marketplace and Concur.
- Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to establish effective relationships at all levels.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
