Position #:
Job Summary:
Clinical faculty position with instructor level, non-tenure clinical practice track appointment. Clinically based as a health care provider in the University of Colorado College of Nursing’s UNM faculty practice, providing full-scope midwifery care with an instructional role.
Responsibilities- Provide full scope care to the gynecologic, antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patient
- Provide care in the outpatient clinic, OBED, and intrapartum unit
- Utilize limited obstetric ultrasound skills in the outpatient and inpatient setting
- Attend monthly practice meetings and participate in a minimum of one-practice and/or College of Nursing committees
- Educate health care team students (APPs, medical students, residents) and actively participate in student evaluations
- Participate in practice development, promotion and community outreach
- Active participation in health plan contracts
- Remain credentialed by the health plans and ensure credentialing materials stay current
- Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
Instructor:
- Master's degree in midwifery from an accredited institution of higher education
- Current AMCB certification
- Current RN, APN and RxN licensures in good standing (Any State) or applicable certified midwife professional license
- Colorado licensures by date of hire; may be working toward CO clinical licenses during application process and registered with DORA
Senior Instructor:
- Master's degree in midwifery from an accredited institution of higher education
- Current AMCB certification
- Current RN, APN and RxN licensures in good standing (Any State) or applicable certified midwife professional license
- Colorado licensures by date of hire; may be working toward CO clinical licenses during application process and registered with DORA
- Demonstrated leadership in area of practice
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with academic colleagues and students in practice activities
Assistant Professor:
- Master's degree in midwifery from an accredited institution of higher education
- Doctoral degree in nursing, midwifery, an appropriate area of science, or a related area from an accredited institution of higher education
- Current AMCB certification
- Current RN, APN and RxN licenses in good standing or applicable certified midwife license
- Colorado licensures by date of hire; may be working toward CO clinical licenses during application process and registered with DORA
- Demonstrated leadership in area of practice
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with academic colleagues and students in practice activities
- Must be willing and able to obtain current AMCB certification by date of hire
- Must be willing and able to provide full scope contraceptive services and counseling on abortion services
- Must be willing and able to obtain CO RN, APN, RxN or applicable certified midwife license by date of hire
- Must be willing and able to obtain current board certification as CNM/CM by date of hire
- Must be willing and able to obtain DEA license within 18 months of hire
- Must be willing and able to obtain valid NPI number by date of hire
- Must be willing and able to obtain valid Colorado Medicaid Provider number by date of hire
- Must be willing and able to complete CAQH and all credentialing requirements prior to date of hire
- Must be willing and able to obtain current BLS/CPR certification by date of hire
- Must be willing and able to participate in health plan contracts and remain credentialed
- Must be willing and able to work in a normal patient care environment with some exposure to biological hazards
- Must be willing and able to work extra shifts if needed to cover practice needs
- Current, active DEA Licensure
- Experience in high patient volume and/or high-acuity settings
- Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary clinical care teams
- Exceptional independent judgment to monitor and respond to changes in a client's condition
- Interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and the health care team
- Skilled in the use of the electronic medical health record
