Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, perform, and analyze research related to the overall mission of an extramurally funded research program.
Conduct public health outcomes and translational research in the field of nutrition (under nutrition, micronutrient deficiency, over nutrition/obesity), and related conditions and comorbidities e.g., type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and preventive medicine across the entire life course.
In collaboration with Section of Nutrition, the Department of Pediatrics (DOP), NORC, Colorado School of Public Health (CSPH) and CHCO faculty members facilitate the development of multidisciplinary collaborations in these areas.
Establish an independent program of extramurally funded research and contribute scholarly work in the form of original publications, manuscripts, and presentations.
Provide mentorship and research supervision to graduate and postdoctoral trainees, including those on the T32 Nutrition Training Grant and Clinical Nutrition Fellowship
Provide thought and recognized leadership to emerging national approaches to understanding contributors to nutrition, epidemics of metabolic and cardiovascular diseases in diverse populations.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate Professor:
PhD or MD/PhD or research-intensive MD with focused area of emphasis in field of nutrition (under nutrition, micronutrient deficiency, over nutrition/obesity), and related conditions across the life course.
Demonstrated 5-7 years of progressive basic, translational, clinical, and/or outcomes research experience with a track record of grant funding
- Federal agencies preferred
Professor:
PhD or MD/PhD or research-intensive MD with focused area of emphasis in field of nutrition (under nutrition, micronutrient deficiency, over nutrition/obesity), and related conditions across the life course.
Demonstrated 7-10 years of progressive basic, translational, clinical, and/or outcomes research experience with a track record of grant funding
- Federal agencies preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
Current research funding transferable to CU
Experience and expertise in micronutrients, precision nutrition, developmental origins of adult disease, early infant feeding, epigenetics and global health.
Proficiency in study designs, ability to create and present the hypothesis.
Demonstrable evidence in the ability to develop hypothesis driven research in basic, translational, clinical and/or outcomes sciences.
