Job Summary
:

This position supports the mission of The Medical Center of Aurora/Centennial Medical Plaza of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. Under the supervision of the manager, the Lead Occupational Therapist evaluates patients, plans, implements and modifies treatment programs, utilizes community resources, participates in discharge planning, performs administrative duties, participates in performance improvement, pursues professional growth, assists with student education, oversees the work of aides, COTA, volunteers, and students, and when need arises will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Additional Responsibilities
:

• Will function as the OT scheduling coordinator.
• Coordination of new OT staff mentorship and orientation including agency staff and travelers.
• Clinical resource for OT staff.
• Ensures quality of clinical practice: documentation, evidence‑based practice, adherence to professional practice act.
• Will coordinate OT meeting as needed with group facilitation, team building and education.
• Program development as assigned by department supervisor or director.
• Communicates OT staff concerns to supervisor/director.

Qualifications
:

• National Certification by NBCOT, BLS certification required.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Minimum of two years acute care experience required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• LPT Licensed Physical Therapist (if applicable).
