Activities Assistant ~ Senior Living Community ~ Centennial

Morning Star Senior Living is seeking an Activities Assistant to provide engaging and compassionate care for our residents.

Location: Centennial, CO

Job Summary

Assist in developing resident activity programs and conduct activities in accordance with direction from the Life Enrichment Coordinator.

Responsibilities
  • Organize programs for Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care residents.
  • Maintain a balanced and recreational activity schedule.
  • Facilitate group activities, one-to-one visits, and community events.
  • Coordinate scheduled activities with other departments.
  • Communicate activity plans to residents, families, volunteers, and staff.
  • Prepare the monthly Life Enrichment calendar reflecting residents’ interests and abilities.
  • Ensure activity supplies and equipment are readily available.
  • Prepare monthly activity program progress reports.
  • Assist residents with transportation and outings as needed.
  • Participate in trainings and supervise volunteers.
  • Recognize changes in resident condition requiring nursing intervention and report to Wellness Director.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 6 months experience with older adults preferred.
  • Demonstrated awareness of special needs and wellness dimensions of older adults.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Creative and enthusiastic approach to activity creation.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
