The platform is a shared services architecture supporting authentication, caching, messaging, data access, and observability across multiple public sector products. It is designed with performance and scalability in mind, using services like Aurora/MySQL, Redis, Elastic Search, and AWS tools such as ECS, Lambda, and Fargate.

As part of the Platform Development Team, you will help ensure backend infrastructure is secure, performant, and scalable as data volume and user demand grow. Your work will directly impact system reliability, developer productivity, and product performance across the suite.

• AWS (ECS, Lambda, Fargate, EC2, RDS, S3), Docker, Nx.dev, Git Hub Actions

• Architect and manage Amazon Aurora MySQL clusters for high availability and performance
• Implement scaling strategies such as read replicas, connection pooling, and serverless/on-demand scaling
• Optimize database schema, indexing, and partitioning for large datasets
• Maintain and tune reporting databases, separating analytics from transactional systems
• Manage data lifecycle, including archiving and efficient storage strategies
• Develop disaster recovery and backup strategies using AWS tools
• Monitor performance and optimize queries using execution plans and metrics
• Ensure data security and compliance across the infrastructure

• 5+ years of experience with MySQL, ideally Amazon Aurora MySQL
• Strong SQL skills and deep understanding of query tuning, indexing, and performance optimization
• Expertise in designing scalable data architecture and partitioned data models
• Proficiency in AWS RDS and other AWS infrastructure tools
• Hands-on experience with ETL pipeline design and data modeling for analytics
• Knowledge of disaster recovery, backup policies, and cross-region replication
• Familiarity with data security, auditing, and compliance in cloud environments
• Experience with CI/CD, Docker, and observability tools such as Data Dog or Grafana
• English level: B1+ (spoken and written)
