Presales Solution Architect (AWS Serverless / Python / React)

We’re looking for a part-time architect-level consultant to support proposal preparation and presales for projects similar to our GPP refactoring initiative:

• Stacks typically include React + Type Script ,
  Python/FastAPI backends,
  Aurora PostgreSQL
  , and a range of AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, Cloud Front, Cognito, WAF/Shield, Event Bridge/SQS/SNS, etc.).

• Discovery & Solutioning

-Participate in early client calls to understand business goals, constraints, and legacy systems.

-Design high-level architectures and migration approaches (serverless/microservices, data migration, security, integrations).

-Identify risks, assumptions, and key technical decisions.

-Draft technical sections of proposals
: architecture overview, scope breakdown, approach, risks, and assumptions.

-Help structure effort estimates and phasing (MVP vs. full migration, waves, milestones).

-Prepare AWS cost estimates using AWS calculators and typical usage assumptions.

-Work closely with sales / account managers / delivery leads to align solution, scope, and commercials.

-Join client workshops / Q&A sessions
, explain architectural choices, defend estimates, and adjust based on feedback.

-Create lightweight diagrams and slides that clearly communicate the proposed solution.

• Architecture and Scope Handover

-Provide a clear architecture and scope handover to the delivery team: key decisions, priorities, and constraints.

-Optionally stay engaged as a lightweight advisor during project initiation (on-demand).

• 7+ years in software engineering, including architect / tech lead / solution architect experience.
• Strong practical knowledge of AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, Aurora/Postgre
  
  SQL, S3, Cloud Front, Cognito, Event Bridge/SQS/SNS, WAF/Shield).
• Familiarity with typical delivery stacks:
  Python (FastAPI or similar) and React + Type Script .
• Proven experience with migration / refactoring projects (legacy monolith or low-code → modern cloud-native).
• Comfortable with effort estimation and AWS cost modeling at a presales level (ballparks, scenarios, assumptions).
• Excellent written and spoken English
  ; able to write clear proposals and present solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
• Prior experience in a consulting, vendor, or agency environment is a plus.
