• Evaluate patients prior to surgery and provide patient/family education about the procedure.
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification (briefing, time‑out, debriefing) and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies and deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team—surgeons, providers, surgical technologists.
• Apply the nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care.
• Assess patient condition, monitor throughout the shift, and document changes thoroughly.

• Current licensure in Colorado as a Registered Nurse or an active multi‑state RN license.
• Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
• Accredited nursing school graduate; BSN preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience in perioperative (OR) setting.
• ACLS and PALS certification within 6 months of hire.
• CNOR preferred.
