Job Overview

The Associate Clinical Manager (Clinical Nurse Supervisor) manages a unit/department by implementing policies, leading team members to provide direct patient care, ensuring compliance with quality and safety initiatives, and partnering with a multidisciplinary team to meet the clinical needs of patients and families. The role also serves as a charge nurse, preparing schedules, overseeing patient flow, and monitoring medicines and supplies.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain unit/department policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Lead team members in providing direct patient care and promote evidence-based practice.
  • Serve as charge nurse: prepare schedules, manage patient flow, monitor and order supplies.
  • Interpret regulatory standards and hospitals policies to ensure quality and safety compliance.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing and shift management.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage in patient/family rounds.
  • Resolve operational and patient/family issues and promote continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and develop staff, evaluate competencies, and support professional growth.
  • Assist in hiring, terminations, promotions, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Monitor expenditures and contribute to budget development.
Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Master’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred.

Experience: Three years of clinical experience; previous pediatric cardiac experience preferred.

Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN).

Certifications: BLS/CPR (valid at hire); ANCC clinical specialty certification preferred. Depending on the unit, required PALS, ACLS, and/or ENPC.
