American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology RN for night shifts, requiring 2 years of acute care experience and a CO or compact RN license.
Details- Inpatient oncology unit within a 36-bed hospital setting
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00), various days of the week
- Weekend shifts required per unit needs
- Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4 on day shift and 1:5 on night shift, with flexibility based on staffing needs
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within scope, including to sister facilities based on facility needs
- Epic charting system used
- Active RN license (CO or Compact) required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required
- Trauma Level II hospital experience required
- Prior experience in environments with flexible staffing ratios required
- Comfortable managing oncology-specific skills including IV therapy, port access/management, central line and PICC line care, and chemotherapy administration
- Experience recognizing and responding to oncologic emergencies (e.g., tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, sepsis, hemorrhage)
- Experience with symptom management for oncology patients (e.g., nausea/vomiting, neuropathy, altered mental status)
- Oncology certification (OCN or ONS/ONCC) preferred but not required
- Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC) preferred but not required
- Provide comprehensive care to inpatient oncology patients, including chemotherapy administration and monitoring
- Manage oncologic emergencies and provide psychosocial and symptom management support
- Perform procedures such as central line care, wound care, and Foley catheter management as needed
- Navy scrub color required
- Completion of facility-specific modules required within the first week of assignment
- Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods during select weeks
- No blocked scheduling requests permitted
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates may be considered at a reduced bill rate if residing less than 75 miles from the facility
- Previous UCHealth employees must disclose prior employment history for eligibility review
