American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift surgical oncology position requiring teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience.

• Surgical oncology unit within a teaching hospital setting
• 36 staffed beds
• Patients primarily have a known cancer diagnosis requiring surgical intervention for abdominal or pelvic conditions (Gynecologic Oncology, Colorectal, Pancreatic, Liver, Stomach)
• No chemotherapy or biotherapy administered on this unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, which may flex up based on staffing and unit needs
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00), various days of the week
• Weekend shifts required per unit needs
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities
• Uses Epic for charting
• Navy scrub color required

• Active CO or Compact RN license
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years acute care experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Experience with flexible staffing ratios required
• Experience with IV therapy, infusions, and port access/management
• Experience with central line and PICC line care
• Experience with chest tube, colostomy/ileostomy, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with wound care and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience caring for post-surgical oncology patients

• Provide post-operative nursing care to surgical oncology patients, supporting progress toward discharge milestones
• Coordinate care, manage symptoms, and provide patient/family education and psychosocial support
• First-time travelers accepted, provided they have teaching hospital experience
• Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility may be considered at a local bill rate
• Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods during select weeks in
• No blocked scheduling requests permitted
• Completion of facility-specific training modules required within the first week of assignment
• Candidates previously employed by UCHealth or affiliates within the last two years are not eligible for consideration
