American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele surgical oncology position requiring 2 years of acute care experience and prior teaching hospital experience.

• Surgical oncology unit within a teaching hospital setting
• 36 staffed beds with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio that may flex based on staffing and unit needs
• Cares for patients with gynecologic oncology, colorectal, pancreatic, liver, and stomach cancer diagnoses requiring surgical intervention
• No chemotherapy or biotherapy administration on this unit
• Rotating day and night shifts (3x12 hours), various days of the week
• Weekend shifts required per unit needs
• Floating required within scope, including to sister facilities based on facility needs
• Uses Epic charting system
• No on-call requirements

• Active RN license (CO or Compact) required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience working in environments with flexible staffing ratios required
• Skills in IV therapy, central line care, port management, and ostomy/wound care required

• Provide post-surgical nursing care to oncology patients, supporting them in achieving discharge milestones
• Completion of facility-specific training modules required within the first week of assignment
• Navy scrub color required
• First-time travelers accepted, provided they have teaching hospital experience
• Candidates previously employed by the facility or its affiliated health system are not eligible for consideration
• Returning travelers who completed a full year on assignment must wait at least one year before rebooking
• Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods where time off is not permitted
• Local candidates accepted
