American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele surgical oncology unit, requiring 2+ years acute care experience and teaching hospital background.

• Inpatient surgical oncology unit within a teaching hospital setting
• 36 staffed beds with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio that may flex based on staffing and unit needs
• Patient population primarily includes abdominal and pelvic cancer diagnoses (gynecologic oncology, colorectal, pancreatic, liver, stomach) requiring surgical intervention
• No chemotherapy or biotherapy administered on this unit
• Day shift (3x12, 7:00-19:00) with occasional floating to night shift as needed
• Weekend shifts required per unit needs
• Floating required within scope, including to sister facilities based on facility needs
• Uses Epic charting system
• No on-call requirements

• Active RN license (CO or Compact) required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years acute care experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required (hard requirement)
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Comfortable working in environments with flexible staffing ratios

• Provide post-surgical nursing care to oncology patients to achieve milestones for discharge
• Navy scrub color required
• First-time travelers accepted if they have teaching hospital experience
• Candidates previously employed by the health system or its affiliates within the last two years will not be considered
• Returning travelers who completed a full year on assignment must wait at least one year before rebooking
• Maximum of 10 RTO days per 13-week contract, with blackout periods where RTO is not approved
• No blocked scheduling requests allowed
• Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility may be considered at a local bill rate
