Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Victim Services and Case Management Specialist to join our team on the CU Anschutz Campus. This unique role provides critical support to staff, faculty, and affiliates impacted by crime, misconduct of a concerning nature, or critical incidents on campus, coordinating comprehensive victim services, conducting case management and workplace threat assessment in collaboration with the University Police Department, Central Human Resources, and the campus Faculty and Staff Threat Assessment and Response Team (FaST), as applicable.

The successful candidate will serve as a vital resource ensuring access to support services and guiding members of the campus community through available resources. Reporting to Central Human Resources with a dotted line to the University Police Department, Police Services division, this position requires a flexible, hybrid work schedule to meet the dynamic needs of the campus community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct victim advocacy and support services specifically tailored to staff, faculty, and affiliates impacted by crime, misconduct of a concerning nature, or critical incidents on campus.
  • Conduct comprehensive case management for FaST cases and victims of crime on campus, including intake, assessment, service planning, follow-up, and referral coordination.
  • Perform behavioral threat assessments in collaboration with the University Police Department, Human Resources and the FaST team.
  • Provide situational awareness and personal safety planning support to impacted individuals and departments, as applicable, and in coordination with other university offices, as requested, e.g. Office of Equity, Title IX.
  • Maintain confidential and accurate records of all interactions and case details, following Clery Act reporting requirements, where applicable.
  • Facilitate access to internal and external support resources, including counseling, legal assistance, financial assistance and medical services in alignment with the University Police Department's Policy 315:
    Victim and Witness Assistance, FaST case management expectations, and the Colorado Victim Rights Act (VRA), as applicable.
  • Collaborate closely with the University Police Department, Human Resources, medical personnel, Student Affairs case managers, Office of Equity, and other campus offices, as applicable, to develop and implement safety and support protocols for victims of crime on campus and FaST cases.
  • Respond to critical incidents and provide after-hours support as needed.
  • Coordinate psychological first aid services for members of the University Police Department and members of the campus community impacted by critical incidents.
  • Participate in and lead training and outreach programs to educate the campus community on victim services and workplace threat mitigation activities.
  • Flex on-campus presence to accommodate the needs of victim services and FaST case management, primarily working from the Police Department on Wednesdays and Human Resources offices on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Work Location

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of three days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.
