The Payload and Ground Systems division within Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems Sector is known for pushing innovation boundaries and driving advances in various sciences. We seek a Software Engineer to join our Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering organization supporting the Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit to support a Ground program.

This position will be located at our Aurora, Colorado site and requires being onsite; remote or hybrid work is not supported.

This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 (Principal) or a level 4 (Sr. Principal), depending on the candidate’s experience as laid out in the basic qualifications detailed below as well as the interview assessment.

• Design, develop, document, test and debug application software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
• Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in planning, design, development and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
• Determine computer user needs; analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepare operating instructions; design and develop compilers and assemblers, utility programs and operating systems.
• Ensure software standards are met.

• Level 3 (Principal):
  Bachelor’s degree in Science with 5+ years of software development experience; 3+ years with a Master’s; or 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Level 4 (Sr. Principal):
  Bachelor’s degree in Science with 8+ years of software development experience; 6+ years with a Master’s; or 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Must have current Top Secret/SCI security clearance at time of application.
• Experience developing in Java.
• Experience with software design and architecture.
• Experience with software unit testing.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Microservice architecture and Object Oriented Design.

• Experience with Keycloak.
• Experience with Node.js Framework.
• Experience as a front‑end GUI designer and UI implementation.
• Experience with Mongo
  
  DB.
• Experience with agile development.
