Job Description This Opportunity

The Litter Patrol & Roadside Assistance Support Operator is primarily responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the E-470 roadway by removing litter, debris, and small animal carcasses from the right-of-way (ROW). In addition, this role supports roadside assistance functions by providing aid to stranded motorists, removing roadway hazards, and performing temporary traffic control at incidents when required. Operators will work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions, walking and driving along the tollway, ensuring a safe and professional presence on the road.

Schedule:
Monday - Friday; 8am-4:30pm

  • Additional hours may be available to cover days off, vacations, business need, etc.
  • May be reassigned on a long term or temporary basis to another location, other shifts, or other schedules, to balance manpower or meet the needs of the company.
Work Locations:

E-470 roadway from I-25 in the south to I-25 in the north, plus all intersection areas. Litter Patrol Driver may be reassigned on a permanent or temporary basis to other tasks, other shifts, or other schedules, to balance manpower or meet the needs of the company.

Expected hourly rate is: $24.29 per hour.

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. Responsibilities

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Litter & Debris Removal (Primary Duty)

  • Walk the road ROW to collect litter, trash, and debris, deposit items into bags, and transport them to central collection points for disposal.
  • Remove small animal carcasses as needed (large animal removal handled by vendor service).
  • Operate company vehicles safely to access work areas, transport materials, and keep vehicles clean, fueled, and properly inventoried.
  • Maintain accurate paperwork, daily logs, and incident reports.
  • Perform physical labor including lifting up to 25 lbs. into vehicles, walking, stooping, bending, twisting, pushing/pulling, and working in all weather conditions.

Roadside Assistance (Secondary Duty)

  • Provide support to Roadside Assistance operations when additional staffing is required, of if litter patrol can provide quicker response to ensure safety of motorists.
  • Provide roadside assistance services including tire changes, battery jumps, providing fuel, adding fluids, securing cargo etc.
  • Respond to crashes and incidents by assisting law enforcement, fire, EMS, and towing partners. Set up emergency traffic control (cones, flares, RA vehicle positioning) and clear hazards from travel lanes.
