Trade Accounting

The Trade Accounting team is in charge of accurate and timely reporting and analysis of trade-related activity for approximately 40 entities across the Americas. To accomplish this, you must be ready to learn systems and processes, able to interact proactively with various commercial and support teams across the business, and willing to upgrade processes and systems to keep up with commercial advancements.

• Maintaining strong internal system controls by analyzing PNL data, confirming floating/tank storage quantities, assuring accurate cost estimates, and resolving Vista exceptions
• Prepare close adjusting entries for revenue recognition, inventories, and prepaid expenses on a monthly basis.
• Monthly reconciliations of the in-house Trading system with the accounting general ledger
• Engaging in regular meetings with cross-functional teams to better understand the business activity we support
• Continuous projects aiming at integrating new firms and discovering process/system improvements are led and participated in.
• Monthly review and analysis of trade profit and loss, inventory valuations, accruals, derivative/hedge accounting, and several other accounts

• CPA or CPA candidate with at least three years of accounting experience, preferably in a commodities trading setting
