About ACCA
The Paramount Theatre/Aurora Civic Center Authority (ACCA) is an innovative organization located on Stolp Island in the Fox River, heart of the diverse historic community of Aurora, Illinois, one hour from downtown Chicago. ACCA operates four performance venues: the 6,000‑person River Edge Park, the 1,843‑seat landmark Paramount Theatre, the 165‑seat newly renovated Copley Theatre, and the brand new 9,000‑square‑foot Stolp Island Theatre, which houses an intimate 98‑seat 4,600‑square‑foot theater.

Position SummaryIn coordination with the Senior Marketing Director and Chief Marketing Officer, the Marketing Art Director will serve as the creative lead of ACCA’s in‑house graphic design team. The role works closely with marketing staff, graphic designers, web developers, photographers, videographers, internal clients, and outside contractors. The Marketing Art Director must have a passion for communicating visually, outstanding design skills, the ability to guide, evaluate and elevate design execution, strong management experience in creating and managing a team, and a collaborative attitude that shares Paramount’s artistic vision for a broad and inclusive audience.

Key Responsibilities- Oversee all creative work—both in‑house and external—including design of graphics, website content, brochures, flyers, posters, advertisements, billboards, mailers, photo shoots, and digital marketing assets from conception to completion, ensuring a high level of creativity and style consistency.
- Grow, manage, mentor, and motivate a team, pursuing excellence, creativity, and collaboration.
- Supplement the organization’s social media visual presence alongside the marketing team.
- Act as the subject‑matter expert on all things visual across the organization.
- Serve as a consistent brand guardian and mission champion.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, displaying flexibility through revisions and changing priorities, and delivering projects on time and on budget.
- Perform other duties of similar nature and level as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience, including significant supervisory experience, preferably in a fast‑paced studio, agency, or creative department working across platforms and developing campaigns for both digital and print.
- Strong experience and portfolio showcasing print and digital design work.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere Pro, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Video editing and motion graphics/animation skills preferred.
- Knowledge of Word Press and/or HTML is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a high‑speed environment while delivering quality, impactful work on time.
- Strong organizational and detail‑oriented skills.
- Experience managing creative development with proven mentoring, supervisory, and team‑building skills and a flexible, upbeat attitude.
- Previous experience in the entertainment industry or event marketing a plus.
