Instructional Assistant X2 (Instructional Support – Part-time, Title I)
Indian Prairie School District 204 is seeking a dedicated Instructional Assistant to provide differentiated instructional assistance to students in Title I programs. This part‑time position involves supporting classroom instruction and ensuring student success.
DescriptionPerform duties to provide differentiated instructional assistance to students in Title I programs.
Essential Job Functions- Reinforce learning concepts and assist students in meeting or exceeding their academic goals and grade level standards.
- Adapt and implement, under the supervision of licensed staff, lessons for the purpose of providing differentiated support to all students.
- Work with individual students or small groups of students to assist in the growth of academic skills.
- Assist in technology‑infused lessons.
- Administer student assessments under the direction of licensed staff.
- Keep accurate records for Title I.
- Attend meetings and in‑service training sessions as needed.
- Use personal computer and general office equipment; demonstrate proficiency with technology and computer‑based programs provided by the District; use these programs to manage files, communication, records and databases.
- Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to communicate with students and staff.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and perform basic arithmetic operations as needed to assist students.
- Proficiency in personal computers and software applications (Word, Excel); demonstrate proficiency using the technology and computer‑based programs provided by the District.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals and be sensitive to individual differences.
- Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees, and others.
- Establish a supportive and compassionate relationship with students with special needs.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff, and others.
- Remain composed in stressful situations and adapt to changing conditions.
- Report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required.
- Carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
- Work independently, stay on task, multi‑task, and take responsibility to complete assigned projects timely and efficiently.
- Regularly required to see, speak, and hear; frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Must be able to push, pull, lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
Valid Illinois Educator License with Stipulations (Paraprofessional) required.
Equipment & Work Environment- Use general office equipment.
- Use personal computers.
- May need to operate adaptive equipment.
Work in a standard school building environment and outdoors during outdoor student activities.
CompensationRate of pay: $16.00/hour.
Working ConditionsElementary School.
