Illinois Mathematics & Science Academy (IMSA) is seeking an individual to fill the role of Assistant Coach for the high school Boys and Girls Volleyball teams for the upcoming Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 seasons.
Experience in a high school coaching role or club setting is preferred. This is a stipend position that depends on coaching experience and years involved in the sport. The Assistant Coach must pass a background check, a CPR/AED basic life-saving course, and possess a valid Illinois driver's license to operate IMSA vehicles, which include up to a 14-passenger mini-bus. No additional tests or endorsements are needed.
The candidate should have skills to conduct practices with volleyball drills and conditioning to improve athlete performance, and be able to manage a team by:
- Working with the Head Coach & Coordinator of Athletics & Co-Curriculars to develop a competitive season of matches
- Coordinating with food service staff to provide meals when off campus
- Attending practices & matches from the start of the season to potential state finals
- Coordinating and supervising overnight stays during postseason competitions
- Transporting students to practices & matches throughout the season
