Adjunct Faculty‑Nursing Assistant Program (Part‑time)

Our adjunct faculty play a vital role in delivering high‑quality instruction and fostering a dynamic learning environment.
Adjunct faculty members are responsible for delivering curriculum, providing instruction, and performing student learning assessment. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively use instructional and classroom technology to enhance teaching and learning. Courses may be offered in various delivery modes including face‑to‑face, asynchronous online, synchronous online, hybrid, and flex. Waubonsee does not hire fully remote adjunct instructors.
Clinicals begin late September:
Monday (6:30 – 12:15), Tuesday (6:30 – 12:15), or Tuesday (1:30 – 7:15).
- Design syllabi, lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments to meet the established course description, program, course, and college learning outcomes while addressing each student’s needs as diverse learners.
- Meet all college deadlines for submission of attendance, grades, and data collection for assessment of student learning.
- Incorporate learning‑centered principles and concepts while motivating students to actively participate in their educational experiences.
- Integrate instructional and classroom technology appropriately and effectively to deliver and enhance teaching and learning.
- Work collaboratively with professional colleagues to serve the needs of students and the community.
- Model professionalism with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Registered Nurse (RN) with an active Illinois license.
- 4000 hours of nursing experience (2 years) as an RN with 2000 of those hours (1 year) in one of the following:
- Teaching theory in an accredited nurse training program or BNATP;
- Providing nursing care, including personal care and ADLs to older or chronically ill adults;
- 1 year experience in long‑term care.
- Completed department‑approved ‘Train the Trainer’ course (BSN+ exempt; may be completed immediately upon hire).
- Provide documentation of 4 CEUs in Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias (included in Train the Trainer; BSN+ are NOT exempt).
Work Schedule:
Monday 6:30 – 12:15, Tuesday 6:30 – 12:15, or Tuesday 1:30 – 7:15
Work Hours:
Minimum of 5.75 hours per week
Hourly Rate: $55.00 (fixed)
