Automation Project Engineer

This is a high-impact role within our New Product Development (NPD) team, reporting directly to the Chief Innovation Officer. You’ll design and deploy automation solutions from concept to commercialization — and help shape the future of engineered packaging systems.

• Design and develop electromechanical automation systems in a collaborative, cross‑functional environment
• Lead projects through the full development cycle — from concept and prototyping to production handoff
• Manage internal and external engineering resources, vendors, and fabrication partners
• Own project scope, budget, and timelines through the Stage Gate process
• Build proof‑of‑concept hardware and physical prototypes to validate design intent
• Create and maintain BOMs, cost estimates, and Solid Works models throughout development
• Collaborate with controls, PCB, and industrial design teams to ensure seamless system integration
• Support commercialization efforts across production, service, marketing, and sales

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 4+ years of experience in automation and/or controls
• 4+ years of project management experience in product development environments
• Solid Works proficiency and strong CAD modeling/drawing skills
• Deep understanding of Design for Manufacturability and cost optimization
• Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational abilities
• Familiarity with Stage Gate processes and cross‑functional collaboration
• Work on cutting‑edge automation systems that directly impact customer efficiency and satisfaction
