Waterford Place Cancer Resource Center provides no‑cost supportive care services for individuals impacted by cancer, including patients, survivors, and their loved ones. Our mission is to provide compassionate, empowering, and integrative resources that promote healing of mind, body, and spirit during and beyond cancer treatment.

Waterford Place seeks an experienced and compassionate Lead Acupuncturist to oversee the acupuncture program as an independent contractor. This role blends clinical service delivery with program leadership, including oversight of other acupuncturists (when applicable), quality assurance, and community outreach. The Lead Acupuncturist is expected to uphold the highest standards of care, ensure a participant‑centered experience, and contribute to the overall wellness offerings at the Center.

• Current, unrestricted Illinois license to practice acupuncture.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience delivering acupuncture treatments.
• At least 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare or wellness setting.
• Professional liability insurance (must provide proof upon contracting).
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of HIPAA compliance and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

• Experience working with individuals affected by cancer or other chronic conditions.
• Background in trauma‑informed care, integrative medicine, or holistic healing.
• Fluency in Spanish strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with nonprofit, hospital, or community‑based health settings.

• Estimated 6 hours per week.
• Occasional evening sessions may be requested based on participant needs.
• Participation in quarterly team check‑ins or training may be requested.

This position is classified as a 1099 independent contractor
. As such, the Lead Acupuncturist is not an employee of Waterford Place Cancer Resource Center and is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and benefits. The contractor must maintain valid licensure and insurance coverage throughout the duration of service.

$50‑$70/hour
