Patient Care Technician - ICA

Position Overview

The Intermediate Care Area (ICA) is a 36-bed inpatient unit focused on providing extraordinary care for patients whose illness severity may not warrant an Intensive Care Unit setting, but who are not stable enough to be treated in the Medical Surgical Units. The level of care provided is as a Progressive Care Unit or Step-down level of care. ICA is the only Progressive Care unit in Illinois — and one of only seven in the country — to have earned the gold-level Beacon Award for Excellence.

The Patient Care Technician performs a variety of clinical and environmental tasks under the direction of the Registered Nurse. The Patient Care Technician demonstrates the ability to care for patients of all ages in the clinical setting.

  High school diploma/GED preferred
• Associate’s Degree/Clinical Certification preferred or comparable Copley experience.
• Certifications:
  
  CPR Required
• CNA Certification Preferred

  Bilingual (Spanish) abilities highly desirable
