IFS ERP Lead

Location: Hybrid operating out of Aurora, IL

Reports To: Business Process Analysis Manager

Department: IT

Overview

We are seeking an experienced ERP Business expert with in-depth knowledge in IFS applications who will serve as the organizational expert and gatekeeper for our IFS ERP system. In this role, you will bridge business and technical teams to lead the optimization, design, and implementation of processes that drive operational excellence across the organization. This role is critical to ensuring our ERP system supports both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic goals.

Responsibilities

IFS Leadership & Governance
  • Act as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for IFS ERP functionality, configuration, and best practices.
  • Serve as the gatekeeper for all IFS system changes, ensuring data integrity, process alignment, and compliance with governance policies.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs and documentation to ensure consistent and efficient use of IFS across departments (Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, etc.).
Business Process Alignment
  • Partner with business leaders and IT teams to analyze processes, identify improvement opportunities, and implement optimized IFS solutions that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance while supporting strategic goals.
  • Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and process reviews to ensure end-users understand and effectively utilize IFS tools.
Migration & Implementation Support
  • Lead and coordinate efforts for IFS upgrades, and new implementations, ensuring smooth transitions with minimal business disruption.
  • Partner with IFS vendors and consultants to coordinate technical work, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Support ERP onboarding for acquisitions, including system configuration, data migration, training, and change management.
Technical & Functional Support
  • Act as a liaison between business and technical teams, translating operational needs into effective and scalable IFS solutions.
  • Oversee system customizations, integrations, and reporting to ensure alignment with business requirements and maintain overall system integrity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated IFS issues, coordinating with IFS support and third‑party providers as needed.
Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor new IFS releases, identify improvement opportunities, and drive adoption of IFS best practices.
  • Mentor and guide internal teams to strengthen IFS knowledge, capability, and user engagement across the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience with IFS ERP, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and operations processes.
  • Proven experience leading ERP implementations, integrations, migrations, and upgrades.
  • Proficiency with IFS Cloud particularly in Manufacturing, Inventory, Procurement, Sales, Finance, Engineering, HR, Supply Chain, Quality and Warehouse Management.
  • Strong understanding of IFS architecture, database structures, and integration points (APIs, middleware, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills with the ability to translate business needs into system functionality.
  • Strategic, analytical, and detail‑oriented mindset with the ability to work autonomously.
Preferred
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, standardization, and continuous improvement.
  • IFS certifications or formal training.
  • Familiarity with data migration, reporting, and system integrations.
  • Experience in M&A environments or rapid growth companies.
