Position: Area Manager, Fulfillment Operations (Tuesday - Saturday 4p-12a)

Location:

400 Smoke Tree Plz, North Aurora, IL 60542>

Schedule:

Tuesdays to Saturdays, 10pm-6am.

Role

Description:

As a People‑First Leader, the Area Manager directly manages and develops a team of leads and associates within our fulfillment centers. The role focuses on process improvement, safety, operational performance tracking, employee engagement, and cross‑department collaboration. Area Managers report to the Operations Manager, Fulfillment Operations.

What you’ll do:
  • Manage, build, and develop a team of 30+ warehouse associates (temp and full‑time).
  • Review weekly work forecasts and identify productivity requirements to meet overall objectives.
  • Partner with other Area Managers to balance labor and maintain efficient shifts.
  • Own operational metric reporting (VCPO, UPH, OPH, on‑time receiving and shipping, merchant SLA’s, injury rate), identify improvement areas, troubleshoot, and implement solutions.
  • Ensure teams are trained on processes, understand metrics, and receive coaching and accountability.
  • Develop Lead talent, providing tools, training, and resources to meet standards.
  • Actively foster employee engagement onsite through activities, events, and programs that promote workplace culture and well‑being.
  • Review and approve associate timecards daily.
  • Serve as contact for escalated issues, mitigating risk and resolving quickly.
  • Support all safety programs and OSHA compliance.
  • Supervise daily workflows to maintain product handling, safety, and quality standards.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary.
What you’ll bring to the table:
  • 2+ years of people‑management and operational leadership in a high‑volume 3PL fulfillment environment.
  • Ability to manage performance, deliver feedback, and develop talent.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power

    BI, and TMS systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience tracking KPIs.
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Comfort navigating and managing ambiguity.
  • Hard‑working, detail‑oriented, passionate about helping small businesses compete online.
  • Ability to build relationships with business stakeholders and carrier partners.
  • Must be willing to work rotating shifts and non‑traditional hours as needed.

Compensation:

Ship Bob believes in transparency and offers competitive total compensation. Expected salary range for this role: $60,000 - $70,000 (base); base pay range $50,363 - $83,938. Eligible for discretionary bonus plan.
