Corporate Facilities & Safety Manager - Aurora, IL (Maintenance)

Position Summary:

Responsible for the oversight of all Mitutoyo corporate and satellite offices across the United States, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations, as well as a safe working environment for Mitutoyo's employees. Oversee back-office operations and corporate services, managing staff, coordinating projects, and supervising vendors and contractors to support smooth, compliant, and productive facility management.

What You ll Do
  • Manage services, repairs, replacements and inspections to maintain the Corporation's buildings, all systems, grounds and assets, both leased and owned, in the most efficient and cost effective manner. Develop and implement appropriate schedules and policies to ensure best practices are in place. Select vendors, negotiate contract price and terms for services, coordinate schedules, supervise servicers and inspect quality of work.
  • Direct responsibility for all construction and renovation projects at existing facilities or to prepare a leased facility for occupancy. Direct or develop construction scope, bid plans or approve of subcontractors, negotiate price and terms, develop budgets, oversee construction work or general contractor and execute work orders. Responsible for budget control and coordination with departments, contractors, government agencies, engineers and others to ensure timely completion, within budget.
  • Coordinate, oversee and execute sales of Mitutoyo properties, managing all details and parties involved through closing. Act as agent of Mitutoyo in lease negotiations for renewals and new locations as well as ongoing service or building issues. Responsible for oversight of Mitutoyo property and interests as a lessor, to ensure tenant compliance with the lease. Review and act upon requests and service demands in accordance with the agreed upon terms.
  • Responsible for the safety of employees and security of all corporation locations. Manage the operation of all security and fire/safety systems and equipment. Program and maintain access information and camera vision at the headquarters buildings. On call 24/7, as first contact for headquarters.
  • Investigate green incentive programs for all facilities to determine feasibility. Execute projects and retrofits when and where applicable to decrease utility cost. Select vendors, negotiate terms and pricing to enter into contracts to achieve competitive pricing and incentives.
  • Budgeting responsibility for the corporate services department, corporate campus buildings and all satellite facility operating budgets. Review and approve all facilities operating expenses for payment.
  • Responsible for corporate purchasing. Includes office supplies, facility maintenance needs, furniture; office equipment; warehouse and miscellaneous industrial equipment and Printed letterheads. Negotiate pricing and contract terms to best suit the company. Manage accounts and activity.
  • Responsible for providing services to all Mitutoyo employees. Managing service and maintenance requests, assisting with equipment issues, department moves, and special projects.
  • Create and enforce safety protocols, guidelines, and standards across the organization, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements. Regularly review and update these policies to address emerging risks.
  • Perform regular audits and site inspections to identify potential hazards, assess compliance with safety standards, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Learning and Development Specialist to deliver safety training programs for employees, covering topics like hazard communication, emergency response, ergonomics, and proper equipment handling. Update training materials and schedule refreshers as required.
